Resettlement Counselling

We are the specialised Caritas association for all emigration matters in Germany. We are a non-profit organization and as such our work is not profit-orientated. We offer counselling for people who want or need to leave Germany. This includes refugees resettling in another country or returning to their country of origin. As experts in these matters we also support refugee counsellors with our knowledge and access to our international network.

Support for refugee counsellors and refugees

We help and support refugee counsellors as well as the refugees themselves. The Raphaelswerk is well connected in national and international networks. Therefore our team is always up to date and able to offer quick and uncomplicated advice.

Plus: We make this work visible. The Raphaelswerk, as a specialized organization, publicly represents the interests of affected individuals, advisors and organizations. We are commited to ensuring that the concerns of our target group are taken into account in political decisions.

Specialist advice for refugee counsellors and refugees

We know what matters when it comes to resettlement or the return to the country of origin. Our team of experts also provides initial guidance if a refugee is threatened with deporation to another EU country under the Dublin Regulation.

Return transfer in accordance with the Dublin Regulation

This concerns people who have already filed for asylum in another EU country (or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland). Usually they will have to leave Germany and are sent back to the country in which they first entered the European Union (or the a.m. countries). We are constantly collecting, compiling and updating the most important information about asylum procedures as well as relevant contact points for refugees in our neighbouring countries. This knowledge is vital for refugees and their counsellors since it provides valid facts about housing, asylum procedures, health care and refugees‘ rights and obligations in the resprective country.
